Strengthening Global Network: DTPB UGM Explores Strategic Collaboration with Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU), China

Yogyakarta, December 2, 2025 – The Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (DTPB FTP UGM), continues to expand its global academic partnership network. This initiative was marked by the academic visit of Dr. Bayu Nugraha to Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU), China, on November 17–21, 2025, aiming to strengthen collaboration in the fields of food, agricultural technology, and postharvest engineering.

Initiating Collaborative Research and Academic Partnership

The visit aimed to establish academic communication and initiate collaborative research with Prof. Leiqing Pan and Associate Prof. Weijie Lan from the College of Food Science and Technology. The discussion focused on potential cooperation in Food and Postharvest Engineering, supporting research enhancement and academic development between institutions.

Main Activities Conducted in Nanjing

During the visit, Dr. Bayu engaged in several academic activities, including:

  • Guest Lecture for postgraduate students at the College of Food Science and Technology, NAU.

  • Intensive collaboration discussion with Prof. Leiqing Pan, Prof. Kang Tu, and Associate Prof. Weijie Lan regarding future partnership programs such as:

    • Student Mobility

    • Staff Mobility

    • Joint Research

    • Other collaborative academic programs

  • Laboratory tour to observe research facilities and explore collaborative research opportunities.

Expected Impact for Academic Advancement

The Head of DTPB FTP UGM Prof. Lilik Sutiarso welcomed the outcome of this visit and emphasized that collaboration with a well-recognized institution such as NAU is expected to open wider opportunities for students and academic staff in education, research, and community services.
