The Department of Agricultural and Biosystem Engineering (DTPB), Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP) at UGM bid farewell to one of its professors, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sahid Susanto, MS., as he enters retirement. The farewell event took place on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at UC Hotel UGM. Prof. Dr. Sahid Susanto began his career as a lecturer in the Faculty of Agricultural Technology in 1979 and obtained the title of professor in the field of hydrology in the year 2000.
In her speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Prof. Dr. Eni Harmayani, expressed appreciation for Prof. Dr. Sahid Susanto’s contributions as a lecturer. The Agricultural Technology scholarly book is a product of Prof. Dr. Sahid Susanto and the working group (pokja) A of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology Senate, serving as a foundation for the development of agricultural technology knowledge. Following this, the Head of the Department of Agricultural and Biosystem Engineering, Prof. Dr. Lilik Sutiarso, conveyed appreciation for Prof. Dr. Sahid Susanto’s dedication during his active teaching years.
Prof. Dr. Kuncoro Harto Widodo, as the Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, Human Resources, and Information Systems, then read the life history of Prof. Dr. Sahid Susanto, starting from his time as a Civil Servant until his retirement on January 1, 2024, after 44 years of service. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Sahid Susanto shared the ups and downs of his career in a poem recited in front of the audience.
The farewell event was attended by DTPB lecturers, educational staff from DTPB, FTP deans, students, colleagues, and the family of Prof. Dr. Sahid Susanto. During the event, souvenirs were presented to Prof. Dr. Sahid Susanto. The program concluded with messages and impressions about Prof. Dr. Sahid Susanto delivered by Dr. Chandra Setyawan as the Head of the Land and Water Resources Engineering Laboratory, Dr. Ngadisih representing DTPB faculty colleagues, Bambang Khrisnadi SH. as a colleague, Dr. Wahyu Supartono as the Head of the Master’s Program in Higher Education Management, Much. Wahyu Trinugroho representing guidance students, and Ir. Sigid Santosa, MM representing the family.
