
Yogyakarta, August 10, 2025 — Makbul Hajad, S.T.P., M.Eng., Ph.D., IPP., a lecturer from the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (DTPB), Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), has successfully participated in the Assessor Competency Training and Certification organized by the UGM Professional Certification Institute (LSP P1).
Dr. Makbul joined the second batch of training, held on August 6–10, 2025, in collaboration with the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP). The program was officially opened by UGM Rector, Prof. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG(K)., Ph.D., who emphasized the strategic role of LSP UGM as an institution that not only produces assessors but also nurtures highly competent professionals ready to compete in the workforce.
“This program is designed to develop competencies that enhance productivity and competitiveness, enabling graduates to meet the challenges of industry and the global labor market,” said Prof. Ova.
The training responds to the growing demand for qualified and professional assessors in various fields, including Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. A certified assessor is an individual with the qualifications and authority to conduct competency assessments, ensuring that candidates meet the standards set by the certification body and are eligible to receive official certification.
Dr. Makbul’s participation in this program reflects DTPB FTP UGM’s strong commitment to enhancing faculty capacity, expanding the role of academics in professional certification, and supporting the creation of graduates who are competent, adaptive, and highly competitive.
