Paser, October 29, 2025 — A research team from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), consisting of experts from multiple disciplines, conducted a series of collaborative activities with the Regional Development Planning, Research, and Innovation Agency (BAPPEDALITBANG) of Paser Regency, East Kalimantan.

Under the coordination of Dr. Muhamad Khoiru Zaki, the team carried out three main agendas:
1️⃣ The Preliminary Seminar on the Masterplan for Integrated Agricultural Area Development,
2️⃣ The Initial Seminar on Rural Area Development, and
3️⃣ The Socialization and Dissemination of Research and Innovation Results.
The event was attended by UGM researchers and academics, including Prof. Dr. Ir. Lilik Sutiarso (FTP), Dr. Muhamad Khoiru Zaki (FTP), Dr. Hanggar Ganara Mawandha (FTP), Dr. Viagian Pastawan (Fapet), Dr. Elisa Dwi Rohani (SV), Dr. Ni Nyoman Nepi Marleni (FT), Dr. Nurul Alvia Istiqamah (FT), Hendra Dewata, M.Eng., Prof. Dr. Ir. Sigit Supadmo (FTP), Prof. Dr. Ir. Sahid Susanto (FTP), and Dr. Chandra Setyawan (FTP).

This collaboration aims to formulate a development roadmap based on local potential, focusing on agriculture, rural development, and applied innovation. The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

SDG 2 (Zero Hunger): enhancing food security and sustainable agricultural systems,

SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure): advancing applied research and appropriate technologies, and
-
SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities): promoting resilient and inclusive rural development.
Through this program, the collaboration is expected to strengthen regional productivity, efficiency, and food resilience, while improving the welfare of rural communities through innovation and technology adoption.
For the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, UGM, this activity demonstrates the academic contribution of the department in bridging research, science, and policy, as well as expanding strategic partnerships for sustainable development across Indonesia.
