DTPB FTP UGM Receives Machinary Grant of Two Horizontal Diesel Engine Units from PT Yanmar Diesel Indonesia

Yogyakarta, 20 November 2025 — The Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, Faculty of Agricultural Technology UGM (DTPB FTP UGM), officially received a donation of two Horizontal Diesel Engine units from PT Yanmar Diesel Indonesia. The handover ceremony took place in Meeting Room 1 of DTPB FTP UGM and was attended by department leaders, lecturers, laboratory technicians, and faculty representatives.

PT Yanmar Diesel Indonesia was represented by Mr. Dimas from the Aftermarket Division and the technical team. From DTPB FTP UGM, attendees included Prof. Dr. Ir. Lilik Sutiarso, M.Eng., IPU., as Head of the Department; Dr. Andri Prima Nugroho, S.T.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN Eng., as Head of the Laboratory of Energy and Agricultural Machinery; as well as lecturers and laboratory technicians Dr. Sri Markumningsih, Dr. Radi, Ardan Wiratmoko, M.Sc., and Mr. Marheri and Mrs. Syatmi from the Energy Laboratory and the Electrical and Electronics Laboratory. From the faculty level, Mr. Agung Wijayanto, Head of the Administration Office of FTP UGM, also attended along with staff.

In his remarks, Mr. Dimas expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and conveyed his hope that the donated engine units would provide real benefits for students in learning agricultural machinery and mechanization. He emphasized that Yanmar’s support for higher education is part of the company’s commitment to strengthening human resource development in Indonesia’s agricultural sector.

Representing the department, Prof. Lilik Sutiarso conveyed his sincere gratitude for the support from PT Yanmar Diesel Indonesia. He highlighted that this donation is highly valuable in strengthening students’ competencies in agricultural mechanics and energy, particularly in understanding the development of increasingly modern agricultural machinery. Prof. Lilik also expressed his hope that this collaboration would serve as a beginning for broader partnerships in education, research, and agricultural machinery technology development.

Meanwhile, Dr. Andri Prima Nugroho reaffirmed DTPB FTP UGM’s commitment to utilizing the donated machines optimally for practical classes, research activities, and laboratory-based technological innovation. He expressed hope that this strategic partnership would continue to grow through joint research, technical training, and the integration of new technologies within the campus.

The donation of two Horizontal Diesel Engine units is expected to provide long-term benefits, enhancing student learning capacity and supporting research activities in the Laboratory of Energy and Agricultural Machinery.

In addition, this collaboration aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:

SDG 4: Quality Education — by improving real-technology-based learning facilities;
SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure — by strengthening industry–academia collaboration and innovation in agricultural machinery;

With this donation, DTPB FTP UGM further strengthens its position as a center for agricultural technology development while opening broader opportunities for future industry partnerships.
