Yogyakarta, 12 March 2026 – The research team from WGFS 1.2 Precision Agriculture and Smart Farming of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology at Universitas Gadjah Mada presented the progress of their Working Group activities during the Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) of the Inter-University Center of Excellence Program (PUAPT) for the Odd Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The monitoring and evaluation session was held on Thursday, 12 March 2026, at the UGM Central Office. This activity aimed to document research achievements and supporting activities carried out during the period of July–December 2025 as part of the PUAPT program performance documentation for 2025.
During the session, the WGFS 1.2 research team from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology presented the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) achievements during the reporting period. These included scientific publications, patents, international collaborations, academic activities, and the utilization of research facilities that support research development within the faculty. The presentation also highlighted various non-research supporting activities that contributed to strengthening the research and innovation ecosystem at the faculty.
The participation of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology in this activity is part of its contribution to the Working Group Food Security (WGFS) 1.2 Precision Agriculture and Smart Farming within the PUAPT program. This working group focuses on the development of precision agriculture technologies and smart farming systems that integrate digital technologies, sensors, and the Internet of Things (IoT) to improve agricultural production efficiency, resource management, and the sustainability of agricultural systems. These efforts align with the commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) through increased agricultural productivity, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through research-based technological development, and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) through efficient and sustainable management of agricultural resources.
This monitoring and evaluation activity is an important component in ensuring the sustainability of the PUAPT program while assessing the impact of research activities that have been carried out. In addition to presenting achievements, the research team also delivered a systematic self-evaluation of their performance accompanied by supporting evidence as a basis for program assessment.
The WGFS 1.2 team from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology at UGM participating in the monitoring and evaluation activity consisted of Ir. Andri Prima Nugroho, S.T.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng.; Ardan Wiratmoko, S.T.P., M.Sc.; Muhammad Athala Fawwaz Dzaky, S.T.P.; Samuel Gatot Marseno, S.T.P.; and Mutiara Alifia Ramadhanty. They presented updates on research progress and the contributions of research activities carried out within the PUAPT program framework. Through this activity, the FTP UGM research team also demonstrated research achievements supported by the utilization of various research equipment procured under the PUAPT program.

As a follow-up to this monitoring activity, the evaluation team plans to conduct site visits to several work units from late March to early April 2026 to verify the conformity between research equipment utilization documents and the actual conditions in the field. The results of these visits will become part of the PUAPT Monitoring and Evaluation report for the Odd Semester of 2025/2026.
Previously, Universitas Gadjah Mada had organized a socialization session for the PUAPT Monitoring and Evaluation program on 26 February 2026, attended by research teams from various faculties, including the Faculty of Agricultural Technology. This session aimed to provide an understanding of the monitoring and evaluation mechanisms as well as the documents required to be prepared by each research team.
During the session, research teams were asked to prepare presentations on research achievements and supporting activities of the PUAPT program for the period of July–December 2025 using the provided template. In addition, teams were requested to update their Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data and complete the self-evaluation rubric with supporting evidence to facilitate the program performance assessment process.
The active participation of the WGFS 1.2 research team from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology at UGM in this monitoring and evaluation activity demonstrates the faculty’s commitment to maintaining the quality and sustainability of research activities while strengthening its contribution to the development of science, technology, and innovation that benefits society.
