
Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering is a leading department engaged in teaching, research, and extension activities in the various field of agricultural and biosystem engineering. The mission of our department is to run the undergraduate and postgraduate program by applying science and technology in the field of agricultural and biosystem engineering to support the development of the sustainability of tropical agriculture. The goals of our department are to create a curriculum for the undergraduate and postgraduate level which is in line with technological developments in the field of agriculture and biosystem engineering, as well as to implement the learning process to develop Agricultural and Biosystem Engineering professionals with technical proficiency and a sense of social responsibility.
The Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering offered Bachelor program in Agricultural Engineering for 8 semesters duration, Master program in Agricultural Engineering for 4 semesters duration, and Doctoral program in Agricultural Engineering Science for 6 semesters duration.
The Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering has 5 (five) prominent laboratories namely Energy and Agricultural Machinery Laboratory, Land and Water Resource Engineering Laboratory, Postharvest and Food Engineering Laboratory, Biophysics Engineering Laboratory, as well as Farm Structure Environment Engineering Laboratory.
All undergraduate and postgraduate programs at the Department of Agricultural and Biosystem Engineering gained A for accreditation conducted by the Indonesian National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education. Teaching is conducted in small class sizes and all classes taught by department members not teaching assistants. Public lectures on special courses other than specified in the curriculum are conducted frequently to enrich students with new technological knowledge. Summer course and exchange student programs are also available to provide an international atmosphere for students. After graduating from the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, students can work as a professional, scientist, engineer, manager, and entrepreneur.
