Fire Safety Training at FTP UGM Reinforces Commitment to Safety in Academic Activities

Yogyakarta, October 24, 2025 – The Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FTP UGM), held a Fire Disaster Response and Evaluation Training featuring the UGM Office of Safety, Occupational Health, Emergency, and Environment as the main resource institution.

The training was attended by students, lecturers, and administrative staff, including participants from the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (DTPB).

This activity aimed to enhance awareness and preparedness among the academic community in dealing with potential fire hazards, while also strengthening their ability to respond effectively and systematically in emergency situations.

Improving Emergency Preparedness and Response

Safety material presentation delivered by the UGM Office of Safety, Occupational Health, Emergency, and Environment as part of efforts to enhance the preparedness of the academic community in dealing with potential fire hazards on campus.

Participants were introduced to key topics such as fire hazard identification, proper use of fire extinguishers (APAR), evacuation procedures, and risk mitigation strategies in workplaces and laboratories.

The training also included an evaluation session to assess participants’ understanding of safety procedures.

FTP UGM lecturers participated in a hands-on fire extinguishing practice using fire extinguishers (APAR) as an implementation of safety knowledge and preparedness in emergency situations.

The participation of lecturers and staff from DTPB FTP UGM reflects a strong commitment to safety as an integral part of academic activities.
