[:id]Yogyakarta, 27 Juni 2023.
Project yang dituliskan dengan judul “Evaporative Cooling Control System Based on Internet of Things (IoT) for Tropical Greenhopuse: An Applied Technology for Climate Change Adaptation”. Judul tersebut sesuai dengan tema kompetisi, terkait dengan “Mitigation and Adaptation for Climate Change in Agriculture using IoT”, dan mengangkat topic “Agricultural Building Environmental based IoT”.
Yogyakarta, June 27, 2023. Muhammad Allam Daffa and Bernadetha Grace Wisdayanti, students of Smart Agriculture Research at the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, Faculty of Agricultural Technology at UGM, have successfully become finalists and winners in the “REEC Student Project Competition 2023” program. The competition was participated in by approximately 10 teams from various universities. In this competition, 2 teams with the best works were selected through several processes, including idea formulation, full paper writing, prototype development, and presentations. As one of the winners, Allam Daffa and Bernadetha Grace have the opportunity to undergo an internship at Chiang Mai University, Thailand.
Allam Daffa and Bernadetha Grace are students under the guidance of Ir. Andri Prima Nugroho, S.T.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., ASEAN Eng. They have created a project and presented their research idea regarding the evaporative cooling control system in a greenhouse. The project is titled “Evaporative Cooling Control System Based on Internet of Things (IoT) for Tropical Greenhouse: An Applied Technology for Climate Change Adaptation.” This title aligns with the competition’s theme, which is related to “Mitigation and Adaptation for Climate Change in Agriculture using IoT,” and focuses on the topic of “Agricultural Building Environmental-based IoT.”
This project discusses the implementation of a greenhouse based on Internet of Things (IoT) technology to optimize environmental conditions and adapt to climate change in crop cultivation activities, especially in tropical regions like Indonesia. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of applying and developing technology in agriculture through smart greenhouses with a precision farming approach. The project highlights the practical application of IoT-based technology, which can serve as an alternative support for greenhouse structures. It involves designing the concept, constructing the system, and implementing control systems for an IoT-based evaporative cooling system within greenhouse structures.
The output of this Student Project Competition program includes a scientific paper and a prototype that will continue to be developed during the internship at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. The internship program is scheduled to take place from July to the end of August, lasting approximately 45 days. The program aims to enhance students’ interest and skills in developing their ideas and concepts through scientific paper writing and eventual publication. The hope is that through this program, it can provide broader benefits and support the advancement of knowledge and the application of technology, particularly IoT-based technology in the field of modern agriculture.
