Yogyakarta.Tahun ini jurusan Teknik Pertanian menerima mahasiswa baru tahun angkatan  2009 sejumlah 92 mahasiswa dari berbagai asal sekolah menengah dari seluruh indonesia. Prosesi penyambutan Mahasiswa baru sudah selesai dilakanakan pada minggu ketiga bulan Agustus, tepatnya mulai tanggal 18 s.d. 21 Agustus 2009.

Perubahan waktu pelaksanaan Seminar Nasional PERTETA di Mataram menjadi tanggal 8-9 Agustus 2009 (pada leaflet terlampir 22-23 Agustus 2009 sudah memasuki bulan puasa).

Yogyakarta. Unit Pengujian Alat dan Mesin Pertanian Jurusan Teknik Pertanian UGM yang diketuai oleh Dr. Joko Nugroho WK mendapat kepercayaan dari UD. Rekayasa Wangdi W. untuk menguji salah satu produk Alat dan Mesin Penggiling dan pencacah daging. Pengujian dilalakukan pada Hari Sabtu, 15 Agustus 2009 berlokasi di tempat produksi di Desa Cambahan, Kecamatan Gamping, Kabupaten Sleman.

Alhamdulillah, some students tape represents an opportunity for selected students in the UGM PIMNAS xxii event date in Malang Brawijaya 21-25 at the University of Malang. 

Students tape joined to the team entitled "jelly Salak shaped as a form of Sheets Based Product Diversification Salak" with members Fahmi Siregar, Andri Gandhi, Muhammad Nurohman (alumni) and Luthfi Susanto and Santo Kiswoyo from TPHP.

Beberapa dosen Jurusan Teknik Pertanian FTP UGM ikut berpartisipasi di Seminar PERTETA yang diadakan di Mataram NTB pada tanggal 8 - 9 Agustus 2009. Dosen yang hadir antara lain : Dr. Bambang Purwantana, Dr. Lilik Setiarso, Dr. Joko Nugroho, Sri Rahayoe,MP, dan Dr. Saiful Rochdyanto. Seminar dengan tema Peran Teknik Pertanian dalam Pengembangan Agroindustri Berbasis Bahan Baku Lokal, diikuti tidak kurang dari 50 peserta dari seluruh Indonesia. Walaupun jumlahnya tidak sebanyak ketika seminar tahun lalu di FTP UGM, namun keterwakilan dari seluruh Perteta di Indonesia, lumayan lengkap.
